25th June 2009 - All visa seekers to be photographed and fingerprinted (AN)
Arab News, 25/06/2009
Saudi Arabia, in an attempt to tighten up on security, prevent identity theft and combat terrorism will introduce fingerprinting and full-face digital photographs for visa applicants as of next year. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that it was calling for tenders from specialist international companies to establish a network of centres to provide the biometric services. The Kingdom has already started fingerprinting and taking full-face digital photos of foreigners coming to the Kingdom on visit, Umrah and work visas.
