2nd July 2009 - WHO lauds Saudi plans to prevent swine flu during Hajj and Umrah (SPA)
Cairo, 02/07/2009
The World Health Organization (WHO) today lauded the national plan put by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in preparation for Hajj and Umrah, describing it as comprehensive and transparent.
The United Nations Regional Bureau for the Mediterranean said in a statement that an expert team delegated by the bureau was briefed on the high-level preparedness of the Ministry of Health to prevent the spread of H1N1-A during Hajj and Umrah (minor Hajj) seasons.
The report expressed support of the UN-WHO for the measures taken by the Ministry of Health in this regard.
