14th November 2009 - Madinah Governor directs hosting 217 stranded Algerian pilgrims (SPA)

Prince Abdulaziz bin Majid bin Abdulaziz, the Governor of Madinah Region has directed to host 217 stranded Algerian pilgrims in a number of Al Madinah A-class hotels as the assigned accommodations group failed to secure residence for these pilgrims which kept them stranded for 5 hours stranded in buses that picked them from Jeddah Airport and took them to Madinah.
On the other hand, Dr. Yousuf Ahmed Hawalah, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Adilla (Guides) Establishment (ADILLA) said that the Grouping and Moving (Tafweej) process of 35,000 pilgrims in 800 buses, commenced yesterday after Jumah (Friday) prayer. The arrival terminal witnessed a huge crowd in buses parking area in Thu Al Hulaifah Miqat (Hajj and Umrah initiation post).
The Grouping and Moving (Tafweej) days include extra days onthe 24 and 25 of thu Al Qedah (November 12 and 13) as well as 5th and 14 of thu Al Hejjah corresponding to 22 November and December 1. These days usually witness a rise in the process especially on November 22 as it is the day of last pilgrims Tafweej to Makkah from Madinah, and December 1, the climax of pilgrims moving to Madinah after Hajj rituals concluded, he added.
Today"s evening, will be the last for buses destinations to Madinah as the buses from KAIA will only commute directly to Makkah, which means that Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport will witness a rise in arrival and departure during the upcoming days, he said.
The number of flights that reached Madinah Airport since the beginning of this month amounted to 100 flights and carried 286,609 pilgrims from 44 foreign airlines" companies, and another 65 airplane touched down yesterday with 16,936 pilgrims on board, in addition to 296 buses that carried 12,120 aboard. However, the number of medical cases surveyed in Madinah health centers amounted to 9,279 cases of mild illnesses, he added.
