26th November 2009 - Pilgrims brave downpour (AN)
Arab News, 26/11/2009
Heavy rains fell on the faithful as they prayed in Mina creating problems for traffic on the rain-soaked roads. Some pilgrims became stranded as flash floods isolated several places between Mina and the Holy City of Makkah. Nevertheless, the rituals continued and the pilgrims were undeterred.
It is reported that flooding in Jeddah has caused at least 77 deaths.
