26th November 2009 - Saudi Arabia floods leave 48 dead (BBC)

Following the heaviest rainfall for many years and the ensuing flooding in the area of the port city of Jeddah, Rabigh and the Holy City of Makkah, some 48 people have died and 900 have needed to be rescued. According to the Ministry of the Interior, none of the fatalities has been amongst the foreign pilgrims.
