Belief in the Scriptures

The essential scripture of Islam is the Holy Qur'an. The Holy Qur'an is Allah's direct revelations to humanity, vouchsafed to His messenger, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

Muslims also believe in the scriptures of the "People of the Book" in their original forms that include the divine revelations communicated through both Jewish and Christian prophets (peace be upon them).
