King Abdullah receives Siamese children who have undergone surgery in K.S.A.

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz al Saud received at his farm in Al-Janadriya in the outskirts of the city of Riyadh today, in the presence of visiting King Abdullah II bin al-Hussein of Jordan, the Siamese children who have undergone separation surgery in the Kingdom over the last 16 years, their families and ambassadors of their respective countries.

The monarch was reassured of their health and that they continue to receive follow-up treatment in Saudi hospitals, wishing them continuous health.

For their part, the children and their families expressed thanks to the Kingdom, led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz al Saud.

The audience was attended by Prince Mit'eb bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs; Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh Region; Prince Saud al-Faisal, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Prince Abdul-Ilah bin Abdulaziz, Prince Miqren bin Abdulaziz, Chief of General Intelligence; Princes; King Abdullah II's accompanying delegation; and senior officials.

Over two decades, professional doctors at Saudi hospitals have performed 12 successful separation surgeries for Siamese twins from Saudi Arabia (3), Sudan (2), Malaysia, Egypt (2), Philippines, Poland, Morocco, Iraq.

Operations to separate three Siamese from Saudi Arabia, Oman and Cameroon are expected in the coming few months.
