Pak Minister Discusses Haj Issues With Officials (AN)

At a meeting between Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Haj and Religious Affairs Khursheed Shah and officials of the Tawafa Organization for South Asian Pilgrims, issues pertaining to Haj were discussed.

Tawafa Chairman Adnan Amin Katib announced that the practice of allotting accommodation in the holy cities to Pakistani pilgrims before their travel for pilgrimage is now to be extended to other countries.

Shah praised the services provided by the Tawafa Organization for the welfare of pilgrims.

Of the problems of accommodation, the Minister said it was not possible to accommodate all of the Pakistani pilgrims within 1,000 meters of the Grand Mosque but he would try to ensure that the pilgrims from Pakistan do not incur heavy increased costs. He added that he would try to esnure the owners of buildings in the area did not increase rents excessivley.
