Prince Muhammad bin Abdul Aziz Airport in Madinah

The Prince Muhammad bin Abdul Aziz Airport in Madinah has been re-designed, ready to received 400,000 pilgrims. The re-design has been done in coordination with the General Authority of Civil Aviation. The new design includes a complete expansion and the installation of new facilities in the eastern part of the present location of the airport. All the units and all the workers at the airport are prepared to deal with the expected increase in the number of pilgrims. Arrangements were being completed to accommodate 700,000 pilgrims this year. This will raise the operating capacity of the airport during the Hajj season by 20 per cent over that of last year. Thirty-two foreign airlines are ready to operate in the airport. Three new halls have also been built for the expected increase in the number of pilgrims. As well as other services being added, 25 fixed telephone cabins have been installed at the airport.
