New Umrah regulations issued

The Ministry of Hajj has issued new regulations granting licenses for service providers for Umrah (minor Hajj) performers for the second term 1427 - 1431, it was reported here today.

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Hajj for Umrah Affairs Dr. Isa Rawas said the regulations stipulated the provision of financial cover, administrative efficiency and in-depth experience in the field of Umrah Performers Service.

The regulation focused on the importance of monitoring the movement of an Umrah performer inside the Kingdom and imposed punishments on Umrah service providers if the percentage of overstayers amounted to 5 percent of all comers through him, the agent. Any Umrah company is obliged to import at least 100 Umrah performers, the regulations says.

The regulation stated a package of measures to be taken by the Umrah company dealing with outsiders, including their travel, arrival, accommodation and departure.
