Pakistani Pilgrims Quota increased to 160,000
Islamabad, Pakistan, 11 August, 2006
The Saudi Government will enhance the Hajj quota for Pakistan to 160,000 from next year, Religious Affairs Minister Ijazul Haq told the Lower House of Parliament. Presently, he said, the Hajj quota for Pakistan stands at 150,000.
He said that during his meeting with his Saudi counterpart on June 13, 2006, he made a case for enhancement of quota. The Saudi minister agreed to increase it, he said.
