Passports Department warns violators of residence rules

Riyadh, 30 September 06

The Department of Passports has urged the citizens and residents to avoid transportation of violators of the Residence Regulations or [those] who are illegally staying [whether they are] pilgrims, Umrah (Minor Pilgrimage) performers or visitors after the expiry of their visas.

"Violators of these regulations will be liable for punishment, including fines, not less than SR 1000 and not more than SR 5000, or imprisonment ranging between five months and two years or both", according to a statement released today by the Passports Department.

The statement called on those who have come to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to leave the country before the expiry of their visas, and said that failure to do so is a flagrant violation of the regulations.
