Hajj official source delivers statement on food supplies to Indonesian pilgrims

Jeddah, 29 December 06

An official source of the Ministry of Hajj stated that the shortage of food supplies to Indonesian pilgrims in their camps in Arafat on Thursday night was due to non-fulfillment of commitments by the Saudi establishment which contracted with the Indonesian Hajj mission to provide food supplies to nearly 200,000 Indonesian pilgrims.

The source said that the Ministry of Hajj officially advised the Indonesian Hajj mission to be sure of the ability of the establishment to fulfill its commitments to provide food supplies .

It noted that the concerned governmental bodies headed by the Ministry of Interior, the Governorate of Makkah region and the Ministry of Hajj Have followed up the situation and worked for providing urgent food supplies to the pilgrims.

The source pointed out that the follow-up of Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz,, the Minister of Interior and Chairman of Supreme Hajj Committee led to tackling the situation to enable Indonesian pilgrims to perform their Hajj rituals easily and comfortably.

The source added that the Ministry of Hajj is pursuing the topic with the national establishment to perform its commitments according to the contract.
