World Health Organization commends Kingdom

Riyadh, 1 January 07

The World Health Organization has praised the high standards of health services provided by the Ministry of Health and medical services of the Ministry of Defense and Aviation, the National Guard and Interior Ministry to pilgrims, commending the preventive and curative measures that greatly have contributed to the control of health situation in Hajj.

Dr. Awadh abu Zaid Mukhtar, the Organization's representative to the Kingdom said that the Organization has followed up early preparations made by central Hajj Committee headed by Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz, the Minister of Interior and by the Ministry of Health and other bodies which have positively contributed to the safety of this Hajj season which has been free from contagious or epidemic diseases.

He also lauded the Ministry of Health for building and equipping Mina Emergency 300-bed Hospital and for services provided to pilgrims by 21 hospitals and 145 health centers along with 9,600 medical personnel.
