Passports Department warns violators of residence rules

Jeddah, 29 January 07

The Department of Passports has urged the citizens and residents to avoid transporting, recruiting or accommodating violators of the residence regulations or those who are illegally overstaying in the Kingdom whether they are pilgrims, umrah (minor hajj) performers or visitors after the expiry of their visas.

Violators of these regulations will be liable for punishment including imprisonment and fines, said a statement released today by the Passports Department.

The statement called on those who have come to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to leave the country after the expiry of their visas, and said their failure to do so is a flagrant violation of the country's regulations.
