GCC Secretary General condemns Israeli practices

Riyadh, 07 February 07

GCC Secretary General Abdulrahman al-Atiyyah has condemned the digging operations being carried out by Israel in the vicinity of Al-Aqsa Mosque. These provocative practices expose Israeli aggressive policies, he said, noting that Israeli actions run counter to the resolutions of the international law. He urged the international community, notably the international organizations, to shoulder their responsibility in this respect and to put pressure on Israel until it stops its criminal aggression.

On another subject, al-Atiyyah expressed the hope that the Makkah meeting which comes at the invitation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz will culminate in success. It is hoped that the Palestinian leaders ‘will reach an agreement and a form a government of national unity', he added.
