Saudi aid arrives in Niger

In giving effect to the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz to provide assistance to the countries of the West African Sahel, a delegation from the Saudi Ministry of Finance arrived in Niger to distribute the Saudi aid worth $2 million, including 2,692 tons of foodstuffs in the Tilfri region.

The governor of Tilfri region Dir Admr thanked the Government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for its assistance to Niger, describing the relations between the two countries as deep-ro0ted and fruitful.

In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency, the Charge d’Affaires of the Saudi Embassy in Niger Samir Ahmed Ismail said the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia had recently provided assistance amounting to $ 2 million to support the strategic reserves of grain as well as to secure foodstuffs amounting to $ 1,5 million through a direct air bridge in addition to the contribution of the Saudi Red Crescent Society in providing health care and operating health centers at a cost of over $ 1 million.

He also pointed out that the Saudi Development Fund provided more than SR300 million which had benefited the various development sectors in Niger.
