MWL Chief launches digital services on Prophet of Mercy

Riyadh, 22 June 07

Dr. Abdullah bin Abdul-Muhsin AL-Turky, the secretary General of The Muslim World League launched here yesterday a new MMS and SMS services to present the Prophet Mohammed's (SAW) path and reviving his teachings and deeds (Sunnah).

The project is prepared by "Sada Al-Dawah" in cooperation with MWL's International program to present The Prophet of Mercy (SAW). The project is sponsored by STC Al-jawaal.

Speaking on the occasion, Ibrahim Abdul-Rahman Al-Turki, Chairman of the Board of Director of Sada Al-Dawah said "Our contribution in this project is to explain the biography of Prophet Mohammed (SAW) and introduce the non-familiar facts that people may not know about the Prophet (SAW) and, with the help of a number of researchers and scholars, to highlight and verify the information we send via cell phones."

Earlier this week, the Muslim World League Secretary General announced the 6 winners of the contest entitled "The Aspects of mercy For Humanity in Light of the Personality of Prophet Mohammed," which concluded recently in Makkah.

As many as 430 researchers including 70 women from 25 countries submitted 86,000 pages of writings in Arabic, English and French languages. The ages of the contestants varied between 12 to 73 years.

Adlel Asheddi, the general supervisor of the contest and the secretary General of the Prophet of mercy Program said the value of the six Prizes are worth SR 600, 000 and are divided into three categories.

The First Prize was shared by Dr. Mohammed Ragheb Al-Surjani from Egypt and Dr. Faisal Al-Nadawi from India.

The second prize was shared by Mohammed Husamaddin Al-Khateeb from Syria and Dr. Zaid Omar Al-Eis of Jordan.

The Third Prize was shared by Saudi winners Dr. Salih Al-Tuwaijri and Maha bin Jurais al-Jurais, Al-Sheddi added.
