Pakistan’s Religious Affairs Ministry Conducts Hajj Ballot

Pakistan’s Religious Affairs Ministry has conducted a computerized Hajj ballot for selection of intending pilgrims under the government scheme quota.
Religious Affairs Minister Ijazul Haq pressed the button for the selection through a computer software programme.
A total of 79,500 applicants were selected under the government scheme while another 82,868 pilgrims will be sent for performing Hajj by the private tour operators.
A total of 162,368 Pakistanis will perform Hajj this year, the minister said on the occasion.
