Ministry of Transportation implements projects

Over SR.40 million is the total cost of the projects implemented by the Ministry of transportation and which will be used during this year's Hajj season. The projects include maintenance and improving Makkah's entry points as well as lightening roads located in the eastern side of Jeddah-based King Abdulaziz International airport along with other important highways.

The Ministry of transport prepared a plan for this year's Hajj season which aims at upgrading and improving transport services during the Hajj season, the Director General of roads and transportation in Makkah Region Eng. Mufrih bin Mohamed Al-Zahrani said.

The Ministry has also set up teams to follow-up maintenance works on roads inside the Holy Places and the roads leading to these places as well as to get sure that the contractors are honoring their obligations as regards renovation of damages in the roads and their fences, in addition to other activities, he added.
