Third phase of Jamrat project completed

The third phase of the project of development of Jamrat zone , expected to be implemented at a total cost of sr 4 billion, was completed.

The first and second phases of the project were inaugurated by the Custodian of the two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz in Zil-Hijja last year.

The project embodies the great attention given by the Saudi Government to the pilgrims.

The four phases of the project, which has a length of 950 meter and a width of 80 meter, will be implemented before the next year's Hajj season.

The foundation of the project has been set for 12-storey building which is capable of receiving five million pilgrims.

The project includes three tunnels and 11 entry points and 12 exit points at the four directions.

It is worth mentioning that the bridge of Jamrat zone has been witnessing continuous development works since its establishment in 1395 with a width of 40 meter .

Due to the increasing numbers of pilgrims, the bridge was expanded in 1405 . The bridge witnessed another expansion in 1410.

So many amendments were introduced in the bridge of Jamrat in 1425 including amendments at the basins, columns and emergency exits in addition to guidance boards for the awareness of the pilgrims.
