Crown Prince hails King's services to Islam, Muslims & Mankind

Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz, the Deputy Premier, Defense and Aviation Minister and Inspector General, said the nomination of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz for King Faisal international prize to the service of Islam comes in recognition of his pioneering services to Islam, Muslims and the entire mankind.

The Crown Prince made these remarks here last night while

presiding over the 30th session of the Prize's

Selection Committee.

In reply to a question about what US President George W. Bush said about King Abdullah, he said Bush will soon visit the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and meet with the King.

He noted that such meetings would yield positive results.

On the role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as regards the settlement of the Lebanese problem, Crown Prince Sultan said 'we don't claim that we have resolved its problem, but we are in touch with Lebanon through our ambassador there. We wish the people will resort to rationality and understanding and work for appointing the country's President so as to make Lebanon remain as it should be'.

The Crown Prince highlighted the significant role played by King Abdullah, the interior minister, the Head of the Hajj supreme committee, and Hajj minister to ensure the success of the Hajj season this year.

On the visits of the Palestinian President and the US President to the Kingdom, Crown Prince Sultan said it is not a strange matter for the Kingdom, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, to receive leaders of the world, and it is hoped that the visits will serve the causes of the Arabs and Muslims.
