SPA Services during Pilgrimage season

Saudi press Agency (SPA) distributed 20,565 photographs on compact discs to press, media men and Information Centers in the Holy Places during this year's pilgrimage season, mostly old photographs for The Two Holy Mosques and the Holy Places along with photographs projecting the great development and expansion witnessed by them in the last three decades.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been giving a great attention to the Holy Places to ensure the comfort, security and safety of the pilgrims.

As many as 350000 persons visited SPA Web site during this year's Hajj Season with an increase of about 175000 in comparison with the same period last year.

Meanwhile the number of the visits to SPA Web site amounted to 19009822 with hike of about 14000000 visits with the average of 4752455 visits per. This embodies the significance of SPA Web site not only inside The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia but also abroad.

Special chapter of news and reports of Hajj was designed in SPA Web Site in Arabic, English and French Languages in addition to chapter for Photos.

As many as 427 news items were transmitted by SPA English Transmission desk as well as 200 similar items by French transmission desk.

SPA attained unprecedented achievement in its history by its excellent coverage for the Hajj Season in this year, 1428AH.

Thanks to Almighty Allah and to the wise directives of Minister of Culture and Information Iyad bin Ameen Madani and the continuous follow-up of SPA's Director General Abdulaziz bin Saad Al-Ghamidi as well as to the keenness and persistence of SPA affiliates to project the great efforts being exerted by the Government of The Custodian of The Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz to enable the pilgrims perform their rituals in comfort and ease.

SPA's mission at the Holy Places monitored the daily movements of the pilgrims around the clock shedding light on the great efforts being exerted by the concerned authorities especially the security and health sectors.

Light was shed on the new projects and the projects which will be implemented in future at the Holy Places through the reports and interviews conducted by SPA.
