Minister attends Saudi cultural days folklore party in Senegal

Minister of Culture and Information Iyad Ameen Madani patronized here last night the folklore party organized within the framework of the Saudi cultural days, currently in progress here.

Speaking on the occasion, Madani highlighted the great role played by the Senegalese people in building the Islamic civilization in West Africa.

He pointed out that the Arabian Peninsula is linked with West Africa by religious and cultural bonds.

Madani pointed out that Hajj has been playing a crucial role in cementing the relations of the Muslims of West Africa, including Senegal, with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

He noted that the Senegalese students used to learn religious sciences and Arabic Language and literature at the Holy Mosque of Makkah and the Prophet's Mosque of Madinah.

He reiterated the keenness of the Kingdom on further cementing its cultural relations with Senegal.

Madani confirmed that the culture in the Kingdom is a humanitarian culture which is stemmed form the values of Islam and the deep-rooted Arab culture.

He hoped that the Saudi cultural days would yield positive results and contribute to further enhancing the bilateral relations.

On his part, Senegalese Minister of Culture and Listed Historic Heritage Birame Diouf highlighted the existing fraternal relations between the Kingdom and Senegal notably in the cultural domains.

He praised the role of the Saudi ministry of culture and information in projecting the Saudi culture, and lauded its keenness on cultural exchange between the Kingdom and Senegal.
