Prince Salman chairs meeting of board of directors of Center of Makkah History

Jeddah, Sept 13, SPA -- Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Governor of Riyadh region, chaired here on Friday the first constituent meeting for the board of directors of the center of Makkah history.

The participants of the center reviewed and approved a number of decisions.

Dr Fahd al-Samari, the secretary general of King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives, said the board of directors had approved a number of decisions including a decision pertaining to the expansion of the center’s activity.

He noted that after consultation with Prince Abdulaziz bin Majed bin Abdulaziz, the Governor of Madinah region, it was decided to join the center of researches and studies of Madinah to the center of Makkah history.

Meanwhile, the board of directors was briefed on the administrative system of the center which includes the board of directors, the center's administration, the scientific departments which include the library, data and research, the periodicals, translation and publication, service of researchers, conferences and relations, and subsequently a scientific committee has been formed to undertake supervision of the scientific activities.

On the other hand the board of directors reviewed means for financing the center's programs and activities.

The board of directors includes Prince Khalid al-Faisal, the Governor of Makkah region, Sheikh Salih bin Abdulaziz al-Sheikh, the minister of Islamic affairs, endowments, call and guidance, Sheikh Salih al-Hussein, the President the affairs of the Holy Mosque of Makkah and the Prophet's Mosque, Dr Khalid al-Anqari, the minister of higher education, Dr Fu'ad al-Faresi, the minister of Hajj, Dr Abdel-Wahab Abu Soleiman, Dr Mohammed Abdu Yamani, Ahmad Abdel-Wahab, Bakr Shata, Dr Osama al-Bar, the mayor of Makkah, Dr Adnan Wazzan, the director of Ummal Qura university, Dr Fahd al-Samari, the secretary general of King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives, Nizar al-Sheibi, Abdel Maqsoud Khoja, Dr Abdullah Dahlan, Dr Abdullah al-Otheimin, and Dr Abdul-Rahman al-Ansari.
