It was decided to train the public security personnel who will participate in the Hajj season next year in a number of programmes and training sessions, which have been determined by a cooperative agreement between Umm Al-Qura University and the Public Security Directorate.

This was revealed by Dr Hashim bin Bakr Hariri, deputy head of the Umm Al-Qura University, who represented the university in signing the memorandum of understanding with Colonel Saad bin Abdullah Al-Khulaiwi, Assistant Director of Public Security for Training Affairs who deputised for the Director of Public Security, Colonel Said Al-Qahtani.

Al-Khulaiwi said the number of joint committees have been formed by the university and Public Security. These committees will hold meetings and workshops in the coming days to decide on the requirements and training programmes of the Public Security personnel who will take part in the crowd-control programme and all the security requirements during the next Hajj season.

Hariri said the university has provided its experience in setting up the training programme for Public Security and added that a team of specialised and experienced academic officers will help draw up the broad lines for a number of training sessions and programmes in which the personnel from Public Security will participate.
