IDB finalizes plan for sacrificial meat (SPA)

The Islamic Development Bank (IDB) has finalized its plan for the sacrificial meat program during this year’s Hajj.

Dr. Ahmad Muhammad Ali, IDB President on Saturday met with officials from the OIC member countries in the Kingdom and other countries to acquaint them with this major Islamic project, which has successfully completed its 26th year - thanks to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Crown Prince's generous assistance to the project.

On the occasion, the IDB President spoke about the project's noble objectives and stated that it was set up as part of efforts to utilize the sacrificial meat during Hajj seasons.

"The project's implementation facilitates cleanliness and safety of the environment at the holy site."

“We will ensure keeping all Shariah and health requirements for the sheep to be offered to pilgrims,” said Dr. Ali, pointing out that the project has enabled pilgrims to perform this rite with great ease and thus focus on other Hajj rites.
