Saudis and expats warned against harboring illegals (AN)

Saudis and expatriates have been urged not to employ, transport or accommodate foreigners who overstay their Umrah visas. Anyone found to be doing so would be fined a minimum of SR10,000.

Jail is also a possibility for violators, according to Maj. Gen. Salim Al-Belahid, director of the Passport Department. He said that the fine would increase in line with the number of overstayers employed, housed or transported. Stricter punishments would be imposed on any repeating offender.

Al-Belahid also reminded Umrah companies that they should ensure pilgrims leave the Kingdom before their Umrah visas expire.
